「意象萎縮」の初のイベントは2017年5月に台北の「Red Room」で行いました。ここは中華民国空軍基地跡をリノベーションして作られた「TAF空總創新基地」というコミュニティスペース内にあります。インディペンデントの出版展、インスタレーションの展示、移動式ラジオ放送、音楽、実験的なパフォーマンスが行われました。

The first iteration of Spectacular Atrophy was in May 2017 at a community space in Taipei called Red Room, located in the library of the former ROC Air Force Command Headquarters — now rebranded as the ‘TAF Innovation Base’. It was a small-scale independent publishing expo, an installation art exhibit, and a day of mobile radio shows, music, and experimental performances.

「意象萎縮」的首場活動是在2017年五月於台北「紅坊」，一個以「TAF空總創新基地」為名重新包裝的前中華民國空軍總基地中的圖書館／社區空間。包含了獨立出版者的小型會展、裝置藝術展、全天實況轉播的廣播節目、音樂、實驗性表演。

STATEMENT

To share ideas around the theme of the withering of the spectacular world, and to explore what might survive being voided, or what might rise out of the rubble, were the spectacle which so dominates now to somehow self-destruct. A one-day installation exhibit and small press expo featuring live radio broadcasts, music performances, theatre, and other surprises. Spectacular Atrophy is the 4th installation ‘pah’ curated by Hyperspaceout.

集結空間/裝置/行為/劇場/聲響/音樂/文字/出版等等各種不同領域的創作者，就「景觀萎縮」此主題延伸出各種媒材嘗試，探索在扣除掉各種景觀社會現象生成的擬像裂隙中的我們還遺留下什麼。『意象萎縮』是Hyperspaceout的第四次裝置「派」活動企劃。
